Top Result at Decanter Asia Wine Awards

The team at Sacred Hill is thrilled to announce that their 2017 Orange Label Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc took home a gold medal in the Decanter Asia Wine Awards (DAWA) – Asia’s leading wine competition.

A number of world class Sauvignon Blanc wines were entered, so a Gold within this category is a stellar achievement. The result is also backed up by the recent 5 star award from Winestate Magazine.

This special wine has complex aromas of passionfruit, Tahitian lime, grapefruit, nettle and fennel making this a dry-style wine with lovely acidity and floral flavours.

Winemaker Kel Dixon says, “We harvested in the cool of the night and the grapes were gently pressed, resulting in a juice that clarified quickly and retained aromatic intensity – an approach that clearly paid dividends as the judges praised the vintage for its lovely acidity and lingering floral flavours.”

Now in its sixth year, DAWA is Asia’s leading wine awards, judged by the continents top wine experts.

The team at Sacred Hill will be celebrating this win by heading out for a spot of fishing, hoping to pair their catch with this award winning wine and a little bit of sunshine.
